Foundations Out of Course ~ March, 1995
From the book 'A World Deceived'
Are all of the foundations of the earth out of course? When you read those words from Psalm 82:5, all you have to do is to read the editorial comments of people in the local newspapers on such issues as: religion, abortion, homosexuality, immorality, AIDS, etc.,
Hundreds of people have written to their local newspapers in the last few years, condemning homosexuality only to have the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster come out recently with words of praise towards homosexual friendship and love. Something must be drastically wrong when the views of a leader are so opposite to his followers.
Something must be drastically wrong also when leaders of denominational churches stand so vehemently in opposition to abortion, only to have a Canadian province like Quebec record more abortions than any other province, while the majority of its people are Roman Catholic. Or a country like Brazil, which is predominately Roman Catholic, but nevertheless records more abortions than any other country in the world?
On one side of the issue are those who support Pro-Life and on the other side those who support Pro-Choice, who also use the very words from the Bible ("judge and you will not be judged") to support their cause, just as those who support Pro-Life.
Is it possible that perhaps both sides are wrong and that neither side understands the words from the Bible? Is there a possibility that the Bible is true? Perhaps the Pro-Life organization has nothing to do with the true gift of "Life" and the judgment of Pro-Choice is perhaps after the judgment of mankind (who judge after the flesh) and has nothing to do with the true judgment of God? Like everyone else, they were born in sin and under the spirit of darkness and unless they repent they will die in their sin (Luke 13:1-5).
As explained in chapters 5 and 6 of this book, sin is not just an act such as prostitution, alcoholism, adultery, a drug addiction or abortion, as the spirit of this world has made you believe, but is the fruit of every man, woman and child (Rom 3:9; Gal 3:22).
Something must be drastically wrong when a bishop lectures his followers on issues like immorality, while at the same time a number of priests in his own diocese are convicted of sexual abuse involving young children.
Something must be drastically wrong when the leaders of denominational churches talk about healing, while at the same time all the hospitals are bursting at the seams and mankind continues to explore new ways to combat every imaginable disease.
Is there a possibility after all that the Bible is true when it says that all of the foundations of the earth are out of course?
Is it possible that the Bible is true, when it speaks about the religious leaders being blind guides, who are misleading the people through their own doctrines?
Is it possible that the Bible is right when it speaks about this whole world being deceived and that it speaks about "REPENTANCE" and the commitment to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God (Acts 26:18)?
Is the Bible true about the natural man not being able to receive the things that are of God (1 Cor. 2:14)?
When most people claim to be children of God, could the Bible be true when it teaches that they have been deceived and that they are in fact children of the devil (John 8:44)?
Is it possible that the Bible is a deep hidden mystery, which only few are able to understand (Col. 1:26; Matt. 7:14)?
Do the people really know Christ or do they follow after a false Christ?
Would they believe Him, if He spoke to them in person or through one of His ministers? After all, if He came to set His people free from the rudiments of this world, then why do they continue to follow after them?
If one were to seek the truth concerning the Bible, one would be able to clearly see for oneself, that the words in the Bible are true and that they are a discerner for every thought and issue in this life (Hebrews 4:12). It will also prove that this whole world has been deceived, as stated in Revelation 12:9, through man-made doctrines in which there is no solution or salvation.
Mankind has been given a free will and because of this free will they will not accept the message concerning the true and living God. They would rather believe in a lie and continue to live in darkness and under the power of Satan.
In a way mankind is like the ring-tailed monkey. For many years the Zulu tribe in Africa has been catching this agile little animal with ease using nothing more than a melon growing on a vine, the seeds of which are a favorite snack of the monkeys. The Zulus simply cut a hole in the melon, just large enough for the monkey to insert his hand to reach the seeds inside. The monkey will stick his hand in, grab as many of the seeds as he can, than start to withdraw it. This he cannot do, since his fist is now larger than the hole. The monkey will pull and tug, screeching and fighting the melon for hours. However, he can't get free from the trap unless he gives up the seeds, which he refuses to do.
We can't but laugh at the foolish monkey! If he only would let go he would be free. But no, his love for the seeds causes him to lose his freedom.
Mankind is in a similar trap. People, like the monkey, are foolishly holding on to their beliefs, which are costing them their freedom and the knowledge of the true and living God that would lead them to the Kingdom of God.
Who is the one that has set the trap? It is none other than Satan, the God of this world.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost. In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them that believe not. Lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2 Cor. 4:3,4).
