Speaking in Tongues
After the death of Christ, the apostles had been instructed to go out into the whole world, to preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). And so they went out and preached that men should repent (Mark 6:12). This same message of repentance we communicate in the book A World Deceived.
Since the death of the apostles the spirit of Antichrist was already busy copying the work of the apostles and the teachings of Christ. One of the worst things that happened to the true church, was the use of the writings of the apostles, which had fallen into the hands of mankind and the spirit of this world (Satan).
These writings eventually became the word of God. Today we call it scriptures or the Bible. It cannot be understood by mankind, as it is spiritually discerned (1 Cor. 2:14). Mankind has tried to interpret the Bible but without success. It is not to be interpreted (2 Peter 1:20). In order for mankind to be able to understand the Bible and to be re-united with God, mankind must repent.
Since the publication of the book A World Deceived, many people have contacted us as they are very confused about the issue of 'Speaking In Tongues'.
As a result of mankind's spiritual blindness, many religions, especially 'so-called' Christianity, have started to do things during the last 100 years, that they truly think is a gift from God. Little do they know that they are still separated from God, and for this reason do we call them to repentance; to turn from darkness to light and the power of Satan unto God (Acts 26:16-18).
One of those 'so-called' gifts certain religions are trying to copy, they refer to as 'Speaking In Tongues'. Originally the gift became the cause of deep concern as was evident from such passages as 1 Cor. 12:10, which was to warn believers not to be misled by unprofitable or doubtful manifestations of it. God is not the author of confusion. He never sends a message that is totally unintelligible and a message to which there is no key should be regarded as extremely doubtful.
Paul records in 1 Cor. 13:8 that tongues were already ceasing, as belonging to the past. Nevertheless, it is something the devil (the natural spirit of man) has a real field day with these days, especially since the start of the formation of the pentecostal movement in 1906 (page 6 of the book A World Deceived) and the charismatic movement in the Catholic Church.
When a person comes to the full knowledge and wisdom of God, he/she learns what spirit people are of (Luke 9:55 - removed from some translations) and what they do in man-made churches/institutions, including 'so-called' speaking in tongues, is foolishness and the high-minded thinking of a few individuals that has nothing to do with any communication with God (Romans 11:20; 2 Timothy 3:4). It is just another way how Satan, the spirit and god of this world, has transformed himself into an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:13,14).
Before we continue, we would like to point out that God does not exist in man-made institutions or churches, as the people of this world like to refer to them.
Acts 7:48 — Howbeit the most High dwelleth NOT in temples made with hands; as says the prophet.
Acts 17:24 — God says: God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is the Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth NOT in temples made with hands.
The greek word that was used in the original translation of the New Testament for tongue(s) was "glossa" meaning "language" specifically one that was unaquired by nature. In the Old Testament they used the Hebrew word "lashown", "lashon" or "leshonah" meaning the tongue (of man or animals) used as the instrument of licking, eating or speech (babbler, speaker, language, talker, tongue or wedge).
When God reveals Himself to a believer, they start to speak things that their families, friends, and people of this world are unable to understand, because it is a new language that is spiritually discerned. It is a new language that the believers have been taught by God (John 6:45).
The believers utter things that people of this world cannot understand as they show mankind the way of repentance (John 17:14,16,25). Mankind however prefers darkness over light. Please read John 1:5 and John 3:19. This is why the believers instruct mankind to turn to God and repent (Mark 6:12): turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God (Acts 26:18) but because they prefer darkness over light they will remain spiritually blind.
When people of the world attend their so-called Bible classes, they enter as children of the devil (natural spirit) and come out as children of the devil and under the power of the same spirit, not able to understand one word out of the Bible as Satan has them convinced by nature that they are children of God (1 Cor. 2:13,14).
Little do they know what spirit they are of (Luke 9:55). When they believe they pray in tongues (as they call it) and communicate with God, it is mere foolishness and their prayers and mumblings do not go any further than the roof of their buildings.
When we were of the world and attended these 'so-called' prayer meetings, there were supposedly only certain people that were able to understand (interpret) what was being communicated. Ordinary people that uttered things were often asked to be quiet, as this so-called gift was only reserved for the so-called leaders.
Have you ever noticed that their God has no power over the flesh? They go to their so-called prayer meetings and they pray for healings that never comes. They lay hands on people only to go to a doctor the next morning to get their bottles of pills, X-rays, operations, etc. (please review our website and click on Will there be a cure for Cancer and Aids?).
During the days of Christ and the apostles the scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees (religious folks) truly believed that they knew the true and living God, his laws and his commandments, but when He dwelt amongst them, they crucified Him.
It is no different today as they have all been deceived by the spirit of this world through the doctrines and the commandments of men, also known as religion (Matthew 15:9; Mark 7:7; Col. 2:22).
For a better understanding of the spirit and its deceptions that rule this world, we encourage you to read the book A World Deceived. It takes a step-by-step approach with what it means to repent and explains how every person can come to the full knowledge of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
